Kidrobot's Fatcap Series 3 is releasing this Thursday, January 26. We'll have them online at 10am Central Time, and in store when we open at 11am.

BONUS: While supplies last both online and in-store purchasers of a full case of 20 pieces will receive a free Sket-One variant "Cover the World" Fatcap too! 

Also.....this Thursday night, 6-8pm, we'll have the tables set up and will be hosting a Trading Party. Bring your extra Fatcaps, Dunnys or other figures to trade with other fans and the snacks and sodas are on us! Sugar high!

FatCap Series 3 is here! Featuring 18 rad designs by artists new and old, Series 3 pushes the platform like never before. With a custom show feel, each member of the series reaches beyond the boundaries in graphics and sculpt, making FatCap crazier, hairier, cuter, meaner and more human. Three mystery figures mean you really don’t know what you will get… but rest assured, it will be epic.  Artists who rock this series are: Devious, Flying Fortress, Jon Paul Kaiser, Julie West, KaNO, Kronk, MCA, Montana Colors, Pez, Queen Andrea, Quisp, Scribe, Shok 1, and Sket One.

We've just wrapped up a fantastic opening for new exhibits by Netherland and strawberryluna in the gallery, and all of the pieces are now available for online viewing now too. If you see anything you'd like to grab, just drop us an email and we'll take care of you.

We've got two new shows opening up in the gallery this Friday, January 13 (good thing we're not superstitious), 7-10PM.

First up....strawberryluna! We've been watching and loving the work of these talented artists/printmakers (strawberryluna is husband-and-wife duo Allison and Craig) from Pittsburgh for years and are excited to have a show with them. They've created a dizzying set of beautiful one-off "test prints" plus two new editioned art prints for this exhibit.

We'll also be hosting an all new set of works by Chicago-based Netherland (aka David van Alphen, who happens to also be our gallery curator). David's retro/70's collage and paint work is always clean, cool and shiny and he'll be showing a BUNCH of new original works, plus "gig posters" created for the show by six *other* artists! Good stuff.

As always, be sure to sign up for our gallery previews email list if you think you'd be interested in purchasing works from either exhibit. The preview emails go out at 10am central time Friday and we begin taking purchase requests at noon that same day. Thanks!

We're happy to announce we'll be hosting artist/creator Huck Gee from 6-8pm on Saturday, January 7 for a book signing. Huck will be signing his new full-color retrospective, The Art of Huck Gee. We'll have the regular edition (red cover) as well as the special signing tour edition (white cover) for just $35, while they last.

NOTE: We will begin handing out LINE TICKETS and selling books beginning when we open at 11am on the day of the signing. Huck usually draws a good size crowd wherever he goes, so PLEASE be sure to come by the store early and get a line ticket and purchase your book ahead of time if you can.

Autumn Call, Ink and Wash on Paper, by LiLJAPAN

One of the things I love about group shows is the variety of styles and techniques. Rising Tide 2, curated by our friend LiLJAPAN (Hiro Hayashi) features the work of Japanese and Japanese-American artists and it's got everything from traditional ink and brush paintings, to papercraft, photography and plush toys. Check it out and let us know if anything strikes your fancy!

Thanks to Chicago 24/7 and host Pete McMurray for visiting the store a few weeks ago! For those of you that are outside of the Chicago area, this is probably as close to a virtual tour as you're going to get of the store. Hope you like it!

We've managed to get our hands on a few of the excellent Casting Shadows - Loser HKG Edition by coarse. Originally released *only* through the coarse HKG online shop, this edition is limited to 200 pieces.

Slide open the heavy hand crafted cardboard box by pulling at the woven ‘noop’ and ‘nism’ tags. Uncover the box contents — two vinyl figures, the longing nism [4"] and huddled noop [7"]. Set up the fabric paw! kite, and let the noop hold the string tight in his hand. The paw! kite will float high in the sky [14"], casting his shadow onto the two torn friends. A set of c-o-a-r-s-e type leaves complete this scenery, full of desperation.
